Kelly Kolasinski
OWNER & CREATIVE DIRECTOR
Kelly’s path to interior design began in 2007, when an unexpected role in cabinetry, countertop, and plumbing sales sparked her passion for spatial planning, problem solving, and clear communication. With a background in Computer Science and Mathematics, more than 15 years of experience, and a connection to her Swedish heritage, she founded Hemma Living in 2019 with a simple belief that great design should support the way we live.
From full-service kitchen and bath transformations to tailored material sourcing and thoughtful layout planning, Kelly has helped hundreds of homeowners move forward with clarity, confidence, and calm. When she’s not leading her growing team of designers or collaborating with contractors, creatives, and clients, you’ll likely find her at the cabin with her husband and four kids, cheering from the soccer sidelines, or exploring new places with her dogs—always inspired by food, culture, and the beauty of well-lived life.
Melanie Prechel
DESIGN, SALES & MARKETING
With a background in Fine Art, Melanie brings a keen eye for color, mood, and materiality to her multifaceted role in design, sales, and marketing. Her personal style blends mid-century modern with transitional elements—grounded in bold, organic forms and earthy textures—but her real strength lies in listening and translating client visions into kitchens, baths, and interiors that reflect what truly matters to the people who live in them.
She has a gift for noticing what others might overlook, from subtle textures and meaningful objects to untapped potential within a space. These details often become the heart of her designs, adding depth, calm, and a sense of belonging that clients instantly connect with. Outside the studio, Melanie shares a life with her partner, Tyler, and their son. Together, they’re restoring their 1925 fixer-upper, love spending weekends exploring the North Shore, or curling up at home with a stack of well-loved books.
Amanda Korhonen
DESIGN & SALES
As a visionary creative with a rich background in cabinetry, former owner of Pottery Burn, and current co-owner of Rust, Amanda brings a wealth of expertise and industry knowledge to the table. Her style seamlessly blends traditional craftsmanship with modern sensibilities, often incorporating rustic materials like metal, wood, and distressed finishes to create a fresh yet timeless aesthetic.
Beyond her design skills, Amanda is also a wife, a mom of two boys, and a passionate artist at heart. Whether she's painting furniture, repurposing antiques, or showcasing her flair for fashion, she has a way of inspiring others around her to tap into their inner artist.
Sarah Collaborative Design Partner
RESIDENTIAL DESIGNER
With 30 years of experience in residential design, Sarah brings a calm, methodical presence and a deep understanding of how spaces should function. At Hemma Living, she supports clients with cabinetry layouts, finish selections, and design solutions that prioritize clarity, longevity, and livability. Known for her thoughtful approach and attention to construction detail, she has a gift for asking the right questions and applying her knowledge with precision and care.
Outside of design, Sarah is a passionate gardener, adventurous home cook, and curious traveler. She and her husband find joy in experimenting with new recipes, cultivating meaningful outdoor spaces, and building a life rooted in creativity, compassion, and connection. Whether planning a garden bed or exploring a new destination, Sarah is always drawn to the quiet details that make a space feel personal, lived-in, and deeply loved.
Kerri Singler
INTERIOR DESIGNER
Kerri’s passion for design took root early, growing up in her family’s custom and commercial cabinetry business. With over 25 years of experience spanning residential, multifamily, and commercial projects, she brings a seasoned perspective characterized by a modern style that features bold colors, rich textures, and unexpected details. Her foundation in craftsmanship gives her a deep understanding of space, function, and creativity—paired with a natural ability to step into a room and instantly see its full potential.
When she’s not designing spaces, Kerri is a proud mom of two daughters and enjoys spending time at her family’s camper in McGregor, MN, where weekends are filled with fishing, exploring new places, and making memories. Whether close to home or traveling abroad, she is continually inspired by the cultures, architecture, and landscapes she encounters.
